Henry Lee's Story
Don't remember a lot of names from H.S. days.
I do recall the ice cream shop down from Whittier H.S. though.
I always wondered where those bubbles went in that Juke Box in there.
And the walk in theater there on Whittier Blvd.
How we would sneak in the back door.
Wonder what the statute of limitations is on something like that. :)
And the record store near our El Monte H.S. that sold the 45 rpm records,
just not the name. After you bought so many, you get one free.
At E.M.H.S. they also had a drive in ice cream shop where you could wait for your girlfriend to show up.
Much better than ice cream. :)
I would love to see Big Five Points again, and little five points too, just not as much.I recall we used to buy parts from the first Pep Boys , and the Tumbleweed Theater, Stan's Drive in, a...Expand for more
nd the Crawford's store where I spent a lot of money.
Even the cowboy coin machine with a quick draw.
I never won.
They sure push the sale of year books here.
I always tried to avoid my photo being taken during picture day.
Just didn't like it.
I don't recall ever having it taken at either H.S. at all really.
I was in the U.S.Army from 65-68. back when returning vets were spit on.
Never did like school when I was that age.
None of that came until later.
I have attended many schools for my job, and outside I went to Rose State College in Oklahoma.
A couple of Vo- tech's seeking knowledge in certain areas.
Am also a state certified environmental Inspector, level two.
I retired in 2008.
I enjoy camping in an RV, if you are allowed to call that camping.
Water, 50 amp. service, & sewer.
